The Jamaican Creole translation Project, whose sole aim is to provide Jamaicans with the Bible in their heart language, began in 2008.
It is a non-profit joint undertaking between the Bible Society of the West Indies and several local and international organisations.
The New Testament is scheduled to be released by 2012.
A warm Jamaican welcome to you! Fi mi anti yuuz tu se, wen sumadi kom we yu de, yu fi mek dem fiil gud, so fiil gud!
We believe our translation of the Bible into Jamaican Creole will have a lasting impact on our understanding and appreciation of God’s Word. In addition, we are convinced that the impact of translating the Bible into Jamaican Creole is by no means confined to the realm of religion. We believe the project has implications for the continued development and standardisation of the language.
These beliefs of ours fuel our passion and our commitment to the work of Bible Translation here in Jamaica. They also fuel our gratitude to those who support us – in their prayers, with their gifts and with words of encouragement.
It is our hope that this website will offer you more than just information about the Jamaican Bible. We desire to transmit our passion for the Jamaican Bible to you and that you will transmit that passion to everyone within your sphere of influence.
